Our historic building was likely built in the 1890s/1900s and was originally a cheese factory and livery stable. For a time it was a two-story dance hall—it is rumored that Lawrence Welk played here before he was famous.
A fire damaged the building and it was restored to a one-floor Ford Dealership with an apartment for the owner up top. The dealership was retired in the 1950s.
Sitzman Repair bought it in 1983—some of the roof had caved in and the building was in need of attention. There was a second fire in 1989 that took out the back half of the property. The rear workshop was remodeled and now includes 4 bays for servicing cars. The office and parts room is still original.
